Organic probiotics are supplements that are produced through a normal fermentation process from organic fruits and vegetables. Most of these products are like multivitamins. They contain several strains of the lactobacillus bacteria, essential to the digestive process; amino acids; enzymes and whole nutrients that act as a base for the tablet, or capsule, or powder – whatever probiotic purchase you choose to make.
Most organic probiotic products that we’ve surveyed take a holistic approach to reinforcing the organisms that populate the gut. There are several types of compounds that are found in the large intestines and that participate in the digestive process. Digestion is not a simple production, and shortages of any of the elements that are needed may result in digestive disorders.
There are also a couple of common, chronic health problems that strains of the lactobacillus bacteria seem to ease; those are irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and inflammatory bowel disorder (IBD). Several of the organic probiotic products on the market address these particular health issues by including strains of probiotic yeast from the Saccharomyces genus.
In several of these supplements, there are nutrients added to the organisms that are partially “pre-digested” in order to more effectively reach your bloodstream. It is from these whole foods that probiotic vitamins are drawn.
One particular product, In-Liven, includes alfalfa, for example, which provides vitamins A, B, C, D, E, and K. Kidney beans contribute vitamins B1, B2 B3, B5, B6, C, and folic acid. The list of foods that are included in the final product goes on for another dozen entries. The finished product is in powder form and can be mixed with beverages or sprinkled on food.
Products of this nature are a mix of vitamin supplement, probiotic diet supplement and super food. While they are not cheap, they contain a collection of vital physiological boosters that are carefully assembled without preservatives or through artificial means. Often the packaging for organic probiotic gels includes a sealed wrapper for each pill in order to maximize the life spans of the organisms contained in them.
