Green Tea

Green tea is a type of tea made solely with the leaves of Camellia sinensis that has undergone minimal oxidation during processing. Green tea originates from China and is rich in health-promoting flavonoids, and catechin polyphenols, particularly epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG is a powerful anti-oxidant, and is thought to inhibit the growth of cancer cells without harming healthy tissue. Green tea drinkers appear to have lower risk for a wide range of diseases, from simple bacterial or viral infections to chronic degenerative conditions including cardiovascular disease, cancer, stroke, and osteoporosis.
