Anti Cellulite Cream

The anti cellulite creams on the market take a little more aggressive marketing approach than products that simply claim to be cellulite control formulas.  Adonia Legtone Serum, for instance, promises a 47%  cellulite reduction in nine minutes.  That figure goes up after a few weeks of treatment to 72%.  The performance is probably overstated, but you have to admire their goals, and the fact that  one of their selling points is “no human stem cells – just plant stem cells.”

The products tout caffeine, retinol and the antioxidant DMAE as the special ingredients that help reduce the appearance of cellulite.  Caffeine will increase blood circulation to the area where the cream is applied and tighten the cellulite skin by removing moisture from it.  Like all cellulite treatments this one is temporary, but may meet an immediate need.

A dermatologist at Yale says, “Retin-A thickens the uppermost skin cell layer – this has been scientifically proven…“If the skin over the cellulite is thicker, the cellulite won’t ‘bulge’ out so much. Let’s say you have a down comforter that is lumpy. It will look a lot lumpier with a thin cotton cover that it will with a thick canvas cover to camouflage it.”

Retin-A requires a prescription to obtain.  The watered down version, retinol, may be effective but at a vastly reduced rate from the more powerful antioxidant.  Neutrogena has a Retinol Formula Anti Cellulite Cream that contains both retinol and caffeine, along with the seaweed extract that is increasingly common in cellulite reduction.

Body Solution has an anti cellulite combination that includes a cellulite toning cream, intensive cellulite serum, and a detoxifying scrub.  The challenge with anti cellulite creams is determining what aspect of the affliction you want to attack – and what theory of its cause you can accept.  Most medical professionals see the problem as one of a fat storage system that is aging, and see no evidence of toxins or lymphatic dysfunction being part of the cellulite challenge.
